YIKES! The holiday season is here and so are the temptations. Are you strong enough to overcome them? Here are a few tips to help motivate, conquer, & protect yourself from becoming the STUFFED turkey. An article published by Huffpost Healthy Living gave these 8 tips we found to be very helpful. Rate all holiday foods from 1 to 10, ten being your favorite. Eat only your 8s, 9s and 10s, leaving out foods you do not rate highly. Food that you rate under an 8 is mediocre to you, or food that you can have any other time during the year. On different days you’ll be faced with different options, so a particular food you rate one time a 9 may be rated a 6 on another day. Inspiration Story-Devin

Where were you when you started? I was mentally prepared to make a change in my health. I was letting the stress of work consume my days and in turn took it out on my body. I finally said enough was enough and put me first. How did you feel 2-weeks into The 24 Day Challenge?  It was hard to stay motivated after the first weigh in as I thought I would loose more weight (since with previous diets I lost a lot right away…yes I gained all of it back :-))but I kept reminding myself that this is a lifestyle change and that it takes time. Help a fellow TR1BE Member

We have a fellow TR1BE member who is in need of help. On May 30th, her father-in-law was hit by an SUV while he was on a motorcycle. The SUV pulled out in front of him and although he was wearing a helmet, it did not have a face mask. He went through the windshield and is in a coma. His injuries were very extensive, he has had numerous surgeries yet every day he seems to improve. The family needs help financially. There are bills that still need to be paid as well as mortgage. Not to mention the amount if money it takes to drive back an forth to the hospital and time off work. Any help you can give is welcome. Even as little as $5 will (almost) fill 2 gallons of gas. Where were you when you started? When I started at Koru (end of May) I had basically not worked out since the previous fall. I had been dealing with anxiety, depression, and a very ill loved one. Through therapy and meds I was coming along mentally, but I needed to take care of my physical health. After a couple months here, I was stronger, slimmer, happier.
